2019 is the first year we were requested to come up with a commencement ceremony design that brought energy and excitement for the newest graduating class. After working with Yeshiva University on other projects throughout the years prior, we wanted to incorporate the color scheme from all encompassing schools and keep the shape of shield as the main focus. We used outgoing lines throughout all signage, some with the full shield and others with different pieces that act as a directional element in moving forward to bigger and better things. We came up with the idea that demonstrates the years it’s taken to get here and the different paths created from graduating this prestigious school and specific programs.

2020-2023

After 2019 was finished, I created the next few years of design for the commencement ceremonies. Each year had a specific color palette and reasoning behind the design choices. 2020’s design dealt with the unknown of Covid-19, 2021 were the building blocks that makes YU so great even though everyone was mostly separated they stayed strong together, 2022 was the year they were finally back together after the pandemic, and 2023 was based on the 3D boom that was happening in the digital space. The designs used that went to print were 2020 and 2021 but I loved creating the ideation behind each years struggles or goals.
