Crazy Richard’s approached us to refresh the packaging for their peanut butter, almond butter, and peanut powder lines. The goal was to create a more contemporary look that improved shelf appeal and made product callouts easier to read. Sometimes a simple update is all that’s needed to revitalize a historic heritage brand.
Collaborating closely with Kimmie, the owner, we updated the logo and unified the packaging with a cleaner, more legible design. We kept the emphasis on “100% Peanuts” and retained the brand’s existing vibrant colors to differentiate SKUs, pairing them with a friendlier, more approachable typeface. Following the success of the core line refresh, we were invited to redesign the Wholly Rollies packaging and develop wrappers for their new Peanut Butter Protein Bar.

Wholly Rollies

My initial design studies took the current graphics and gave them a boost of energy. With the new name explorations and updates to the other lines, I wanted a more appropriate hierarchy to the information, new louder typefaces, and an increase in the size of the delicious ingredients. Ultimately we landed on an updated logo for the original design but I always loved this approach as an optimal morning or mid afternoon direction for that pick-me-up snack.
